DT Inspiration for ABMTTC

Good Evening Guys!!

How are you all doing? I am here with a great news. I have been chosen as one of the new DTs at A Bit More Time To Craft. This is my first DT break..So I am Really really excited.

Today I am gonna share my first DT inspiration for the ongoing fortnightly challenge, theme always is  "Anything goes". The challenges are held on the 1st and 15th of the month where the lucky winners can win their choice of 3 digi paper sets from the very talented Lozzy. There are lots of fabulous sets to choose from which can be found HERE. I am bit late in posting this card because my Grandmother got seriously ill few days back and I was a bit busy taking care of her. Here is the card.

To make this card I have used 2 digi pattern papers designed by Lozzy. First I took a black cardstock and added a digi paper from "On its way" Set. Then I added a  digi paper strip from "Its hot" set backed with a black cardstock. Next I put a beautiful pink die cut from Sonia Ma'm which looked perfect for my card. Stamped Love sentiment from Craftyscrappers "Purrfect Pair" stamp set on a piece of vellum and added it on the die cut. Next I colored watercolor paper bright yellow and stamped the beautiful butterfly stamp from Little Birdie Stamp set. Embossed them to give some dimension and added to the die cut frame. To finish off the card added dots usind black and golden pen and a few thermocol   balls painted golden.

There is still time to play along the challenge. Do come and join us.

Mixed Media Calender!!

Good Evening guys!

Hope you are doing good. Today I am here to share a mixed media calendar which I made for the ongoing challenge on ICR. After a very long time I was able to click a few shots of the making process. I created it by recycling an old wedding invitation that was all golden and very pretty. Hope it inspires you all to create something.

Here is how the Calendar turned out to be...
Mixed Media Calender

To Make This..
  • I took an old corrugated sheet and cut it according to the size of the wedding card. Then I peeled off some of the covering from the edges, distressed it vintage and added some texture paste. Next to create the front panel I took a Pattern Paper from Paper Designers "Comfortable Afternoon" and adjusted its size accordingly. Then I tore the edges a bit and distressed this also vintage.
    Mixed Media Calender
  •  To add textures to the front panel applied homemade texture paste through a few stencils from Little Birdie. Also stamped Mudra's Script Stamp here and there. Then I used the pieces torn from corrugated sheet to make tree branches. To do so I rolled them, and applied glue and brown color. Finally arranged these pieces on the PP.
    Mixed Media Calender
  • Then created the calendar part. It is a free print out which I pasted on white card stocks of  double size. Punched two holes on all of them and added two rings. Then added a hanging part created using foam tape and placed a hand written 2017 on top of it. Hope this picture makes it clear.
    Mixed Media Calender
  • Finally added some hand cut flowers, two bird cages and a few stamped and heat embossed butterflies.
  • For the inside I attached one of the leaflets from the wedding card to make it stand, coated the whole inner part with black acrylic paint and dry brushed it golden.

Emboss Resist!

Good evening everyone!!

I am back again with one more card. I have made this card taking a few challenges into consideration. In this card I have tried Emboss resist technique for the first time. A few days back I got hold of a beautiful stamp set by Mudra- "Ria". So this is my first card using this stamp. And I love it so much, I think a many more are gonna come.

Here is the card..
Emboss Resist Technique

To make this card:
●I took a thick white cardstock and stamped Itsy Bitsy lace stamp with versamark white ink. Then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. To bring out the design applied vintage distress ink.
●Next applied homemade texture paste through script stencil to add some texture.
●Then added paper doily and lace distressed with Broken China Distress Ink.
●Next element was the corrugated tag colored black with Ria. She has been stamped on watercolor paper and colored using watercolor pencils.
●Finally added some handmade flowers and the sentiment "Where there is love there is life".

Another Mixed Media Card!!

Hello Friends!

A few days back I received some free goodies from Itsy Bitsy which included a stamp set and 2 ink pads. I came up with this card using this stamp set. This one is almost build along the same lines as my last mixed media card.

Here is the card...
Mixed Media Card

To make this-
  • I took a white thick paper from a wedding invite and applied some texture paste through honey comb and script stencils. Then sprayed blue and black mist. Distressedd the edges with scissors and applied black pigment ink.
  • To build the central panel added a paper doily, some gauze, black thread and some handmade flowers. Then made 4 tags sponged blue of two thickness and stamped the sentiments from stamp set sent by Itsy Bitsy. They give very crisp boundaries.
  • Stamped the Main sentiment on absolute white paper to make it more prominent. Finally added the whole profject to the card base.

Mixed Media Card!

Good Evening Friends!!

This my first post of the year 2017. So before sharing the card, I would like to wish you all A VERY HAPPY AND CRAFTY NEW YEAR AHEAD!!

This New Year has begun with an amazing start. Every Thursday my favorite store, Itsy Bitsy puts a crafter in spotlight. Through which we come to know more about our fellow crafters. And this week...They have chosen me. This recognition means a lot to me. And for this I would like to thank Rashmi Harish Ma'm and the whole Itsy Bitsy Team.

As a part of this I was asked to put up a new work along with its tutorial. So here is the card that I made..
