Geometry!

Hello ladies!!

Today I am here to share one more card..

And I would love to thank Rahmat for joining us.

The theme this month at Lulupu is geometric. So I went geometric with thread. This is my first experience with distress ink..

To make the card I first folded a cardstock in such a manner that the front panel is a bit shorter than the inside. Then created ombre shade with distress ink. Then sprayed some water through script stencil. Made tiny cute feathers. Cut out a scalloped circle and colored the outer part black to give it the look of rim of dreamcatcher.
Tied twine around the circle and attached three twine to th circle. Inserted beads in them and added the feathers using glue. On the visible part of back page drew black strips of variable thickness using black pen. Finally added the sentiment from Jane's Doodles Daffodil stampset.

Here is the card...

Something New!!

Good Morning Crafters!

Due to my exams I am not able to blog or craft much. Just had a paper this Sunday. So to give my self a small break, crafted few cards.

Before coming to the cards I would like to thank  Lisa, Jo , Pooja Preety and Lorraine  for joining me. Your appreciation really means a lot to me.

This post includes two cards in which I have experimented with something that I have never used before..

First Card:
I made this card using Acetate sheet..

Telescoping Image Card

Good afternoon bloggers!

First of all I wanna thank all of you for your lovely comments on my last card.

I also wanna welcome Jessica  and Thank her for the appreciation.

Today I am here with a card using TELESCOPING IMAGE TECHNIQUE . Have also tried some more stamping.

I used this  technique after getting inspired by Shraddha's Tute on ICR Septorials. But the problem was that I didn't have a bigshot..So instead I made it using a metallic ruler and craft knife.

Here is how..
First I took two square sheets of equal size (13 cm)and stamped (with watercolor;)) flowers and sentiment "ENJOY EVERY MOMENT" almost identically. Colored them with Camlin colored pencils. On the back drew 4 squares each .8 cm smaller than the previous one starting from edge (on both the sheets). Cut along 1st and 3rd square on one And 2nd and 4th square on the other stamped sheet. Arranged them one over the other using foam tape. On the inside attached a sheet with  distressed edges(using something different...to know what..check out my next post). The sheet was left blank to be personalised later. Then added two stamped, colored, fussy cut and embossed flowers on the edges. Finally added sequins from Ranganjali win to add some interest.
(If you have any difficulty in understanding, read the tutorial by Shradsha first.)

Here is the final card...

"YOU Brighten my day"

Good Morning Guys!!

I am back again with another CAS fall card. But before that I wanna thank for your response on my last card ...

Seeing so many challenges based on fall colors I just couldn't resist making one more. Here is a sneak peak..
Fall Card
Two days back I received my megaprize from Ranganjali . So many lovely stamps and dies. Thanks Archana for all the goodies. They are just wonderful.

Coming to the card, first I took a white watercolour cardstock and and made a rectangle over it. After masking the area outside I created an ombre effect using autumn colours. Then with black acrylic paint drew two birds perched on tree branches. Covered the image with cellophane. Then I did some embossing on the rest of my cardstock. Attached a corrugated frame shaped sheet outside the drawing. Then tied three fall coloured embroidery threads on th side. I have ordered some pigment and distress inks, but they have not arrived yet. But I wanted to use the clear stamps, so I tried watercolour on one of the stamps from Jane's doodles( Will that damage the stamp? I washed it immediately with soap and water). I stamped the sentiment "YOU brighten my day" on another piece of paper(lucky I found a transparent paperweight) and cut it out using craft scissors. Colored the margin black and attached it over the card with foam tape. Finally attached some blings to "brighten" the card and adhered the cardstock on white card base using foam tape to give it some elevation. And tadaa, the card is ready.

P.S. Now I know why everyone is crazy about stamping. I just loved it and am going nuts to try  out some more.

Masculine Birthday Card with Bokeh Technique Tutorial

Good afternoon everyone!

Thank you for leaving such lovely comments on my Tag Birthday Card. They really made my day.

Yesterday was my lucky day because 4 new friends joined my blog. I would love to thank Liz, Seema, Lavina and Patti for the appreciation.

Today's card is also a Birthday Card using Bokeh Technique. The only difference being that I have tried to make it a bit musculine( hope i am successful) and it is nearly CAS. Here is a sneak peak...
Birthday Card

I have made this card for my elder Brother. His 31st Birthday is coming..so this is gonna be his birthday present as I am jobless right now ;P .

And I am also attaching a tutorial on Bokeh Technique. Hoping it will entice you towards trying it..

I am CASing this sketch..

So to make this card I first created a Bokeh bg(tute towards the end). Then took a white sheet and did some embossing. To make the embossed corners I used metal scale and for embossing dots I used a homemade embossing page using "bindis"  ("desi jugaad"-will attach a pic). Then glued the bokeh bg to the sheet and attached a corrugated horizontal sheet over them. Added quilled hat and moustache to give it a musculine look. Finally attached hand-written sentiment over the corrugated sheet.

Here is the final card..

BOKEH TECHNIQUE-Tutorial

Step 1:Attach the watercolor paper to a hard surface using painters tape , so that when you add water the paper doesn't curl.
Bokeh Technique

Step 2: Brush a layer of water over the paper so that when you add colors they clend together easily. Keep in mind that the paper gets wet but not too wet. If the paper gets dry you can also brush some water in between.
Bokeh Technique

Step 3:Add watercolors randomly to the paper and blend them. Try using colors that blend together easily like red and yellow or green and blue. If you find a concentrated patch anywhere you can spray some water with the brush and sponge with a dry clothe.
Bokeh Technique

Step 4: Let it dry. Meanwhile prepare a stencil having three circles of different sizes( if you have stencil like that, no need to worry). You can use acetate sheet and circle punches of 3 different radii. I didn't even have that, so I drew such circles using different caps on a plastic sheet and cut it out. While making the circles make sure they are away from margin as well as from each other.
Bokeh Technique

Step 5:Through the biggest circle apply white paint ok the watercolored paper. You can use sponge for this. But I prefer my finger. Make a few biggest and then bigger circles. While making the smaller ones use a bit concentrated paint so that they appear shining among the bigger ones.
Don't worry about overlapping.
Bokeh Technique

Step 6: Allow it to dry and use it as a bg for your next creation.
