Mixed Media Calender!!

Good Evening guys!

Hope you are doing good. Today I am here to share a mixed media calendar which I made for the ongoing challenge on ICR. After a very long time I was able to click a few shots of the making process. I created it by recycling an old wedding invitation that was all golden and very pretty. Hope it inspires you all to create something.

Here is how the Calendar turned out to be...
Mixed Media Calender

To Make This..
  • I took an old corrugated sheet and cut it according to the size of the wedding card. Then I peeled off some of the covering from the edges, distressed it vintage and added some texture paste. Next to create the front panel I took a Pattern Paper from Paper Designers "Comfortable Afternoon" and adjusted its size accordingly. Then I tore the edges a bit and distressed this also vintage.

  •  To add textures to the front panel applied homemade texture paste through a few stencils from Little Birdie. Also stamped Mudra's Script Stamp here and there. Then I used the pieces torn from corrugated sheet to make tree branches. To do so I rolled them, and applied glue and brown color. Finally arranged these pieces on the PP.

  • Then created the calendar part. It is a free print out which I pasted on white card stocks of  double size. Punched two holes on all of them and added two rings. Then added a hanging part created using foam tape and placed a hand written 2017 on top of it. Hope this picture makes it clear.

  • Finally added some hand cut flowers, two bird cages and a few stamped and heat embossed butterflies.
  • For the inside I attached one of the leaflets from the wedding card to make it stand, coated the whole inner part with black acrylic paint and dry brushed it golden.
Here are a few more snaps..
