Geometry!

Hello ladies!!

Today I am here to share one more card..

And I would love to thank Rahmat for joining us.

The theme this month at Lulupu is geometric. So I went geometric with thread. This is my first experience with distress ink..

To make the card I first folded a cardstock in such a manner that the front panel is a bit shorter than the inside. Then created ombre shade with distress ink. Then sprayed some water through script stencil. Made tiny cute feathers. Cut out a scalloped circle and colored the outer part black to give it the look of rim of dreamcatcher.
Tied twine around the circle and attached three twine to th circle. Inserted beads in them and added the feathers using glue. On the visible part of back page drew black strips of variable thickness using black pen. Finally added the sentiment from Jane's Doodles Daffodil stampset.

Here is the card...

Something New!!

Good Morning Crafters!

Due to my exams I am not able to blog or craft much. Just had a paper this Sunday. So to give my self a small break, crafted few cards.

Before coming to the cards I would like to thank  Lisa, Jo , Pooja Preety and Lorraine  for joining me. Your appreciation really means a lot to me.

This post includes two cards in which I have experimented with something that I have never used before..

First Card:
I made this card using Acetate sheet..

Based on "The Solid Mandala" by Australian writer Patrick White. The two halves represents the two antagonist but still mutually dependant brothers of the story.

Lets Celebrate you!!

I have one more card for today. This card  is for the on going Becca's The Hop to Stop Domestic Violence. I don' t have any personal experience of this but Domestic Violence is a demon that is lurking behind so many doors of our modern society. And I feel the pain of all those who have been victimised by it.

Here is the card ..

Lets Celebrate you

To make this I took a white cardstock and applied homemade mixed media paste through Flora stencil from  Little Birdie. Added some silver glitter while it was still wet. When it dried colored it yellow with homemade spray. Stamped daffodils from Jane's Doodles with Versacolor white ink and and heat embossed it. Colored it with watercolor pencils. It looks so pretty to me. (What do you think?) Next added some gold glint behind the flowers and added some purple blings. Added this cardstock a purple one. Finally added a stamped sentiment from Courtyard Fauna by Itsy-bitsy saying "Lets celebrate you".

Diwali Card

Diwali Card

To make this card first I stamped mandalas from the beautiful lace stamp set from Itsy-bitsy on a white card stock and heat embossed it. Then took a smaller cardstock and stamped it with white ink in such a way that it overlapped the Black mandalas in the BG. Heat embossed it and painted it pink. Made the shaker part and added a dia cutout from heat embossed mandala on a black cardstock. The sentiment is a printout. Attached the main cardstock to a maroon one. Finally added some blings.

Art Journaling-#Page 1

Hello crafters!

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my invitation birthday card. And I would also love to welcome two new freinds joining us today Lavanya and Susan.

Today's post is really special to me. This is my first post as a Guest Designer..Yay!! And I am very grateful to Unstampabelles team especially Susan for giving me this oppurtunity.

The theme for this month at Unstampabelles is..

Outside Your Comfort Zone Twist

TWIST :have a different edge!

I was really worried at first when I saw the theme. But then I decided to try something new. And after watching numerous videos I am here to showcase my first try at art journaling.. and also my first attempt at mixed media..

To make this I took an old diary and glued some pages together to create two thick pages. Applied homemade guesso over it and colored with acrylics till I liked it. Then added some hanmade texture paste using stencil. The stencil with circle is also handmade using punches.
Took a cap and stamped white acrylic diagonally. Splattered white paint all over it. The picture and sentiment are printouts. The sentiment says "Until you spread your wings, you will have no idea how far you can FLY". Behind the picture I have added a hand cut frame, script pattern paper and a guaze piece. Finally attached a flower and some shaded circular printouts.

Some more shots..

And I also made a watermark this week :).

Hope I was able to inspire you a little to go outside your comfort zone. Do participate in Unstampabelles October challenge.

When tag is pulled out...
Birthday Invite

To make this I have upcycled an old wedding card, package box, and paper from old magazine.
Firstly I took two thick paper cut out from wedding card. On one of them stuck pieces of magazine. Applied a layer of guesso. Added some colors and stamped a bit to create the BG.Painted the edges. Added lace, celebration banner using glitter tape, a quilled white dress(have applied golden paint on the strips, though not visible in the pic :( ), handmade flowers and sentiment. Now coming to the sliding tag part..For this I used beautiful tutorial by Dr. Sonia. But instead of foam tape I have used strips from packaging box. On the inside of the tag  I distressed the edges wrote the Invite to be filled later.I also made a matching box for it.
